Progress in this version

Completed lessons, bookmarks, recent pages, practice attempts, display preferences, application-checklist items, and cost-planner entries are stored in the web browser using local storage. This lets the same browser remember progress without creating an account. Clearing browser storage, using private browsing, or changing devices can remove or separate that information.

Article questions and corrections

When this build is deployed on Netlify, the form is detected, and a reader submits an article-question form, the submission is sent to Netlify’s form service for the site owner to review. The required message is collected with the client-supplied article title and direct article URL. Name, reply email, and permission to quote or paraphrase anonymously are optional. The page fields are verification aids, not trusted proof of where a submission came from.

Contribution desk

The separate site-contribution form collects a contribution type, whether the reader believes it is a fact, research, experience, question, or uncertain claim, an optional page URL, the message, optional source URLs, optional name and reply email, optional credit/anonymous-quotation choices, and a required privacy acknowledgement. Source and page URLs are untrusted suggestions and must be checked independently before use.

Once the Netlify workflow is configured, submissions go to private moderation and are not published automatically. This applies to both form streams. “Anonymous” means the reader can omit name and email; the hosting provider may still process ordinary technical request information such as IP address, browser, time, and requested page under its own service terms. Readers should not send student numbers, passwords, health records, confidential assessments, or other sensitive personal information. The site owner must configure and test access, retention, deletion, spam controls, and notification recipients in the Netlify dashboard and keep this notice aligned with that configuration.

KamranBot in this version

KamranBot’s downloadable demonstration uses a small set of built-in coaching responses in the browser. It does not send the conversation to an external generative-AI service and is not a live tutor. Students should still avoid entering names, addresses, health information, passwords, school account details, or confidential assessment material.

Accounts and owner credentials

The account page is a disabled interface preview; cloud sign-in and cross-device synchronization are unavailable. GoDaddy owner credentials are never appropriate student credentials and should never be entered into Math101. A future account system will need its own privacy notice, consent flow, retention/deletion controls, and security review.

Hosting and external links

A production host can receive standard technical request information such as IP address, browser, time, and requested page according to that host’s policy. External official-source, booking, email, and university links follow the destination’s privacy practices. Math101 cannot control those sites.

Children and student safety

Do not use this site to submit emergencies, abuse reports, medical details, or confidential school records. A parent, school, emergency service, or appropriate professional should handle urgent or high-stakes situations. Live tutoring should use clear booking, cancellation, communication, safeguarding, and consent practices.

Before additional connected features are switched on

• Document every service that receives data.
• Collect only what the feature needs.
• Define access, retention, export, correction, and deletion.
• Protect secret keys on a server—never in browser JavaScript.
• Review Ontario/Canadian privacy and consumer requirements with qualified advice.
