Ontario Grade 7 mathematics continues the 2020 curriculum's six strands. Work deepens rational-number operations, powers, proportional relationships, algebraic expressions and equations, coding, probability and data, circles and other spatial measures, and financial decision-making. Mathematical processes include problem solving, reasoning, representation, connection, communication, reflection, and tool selection.
Notation and mathematical language
A rational number is expressible as $a/b$ with integers $a,b$ and $b\ne0$. Exponent notation $a^n$ means repeated multiplication for positive integer $n$. In proportional relationships, $y=kx$ has constant ratio $y/x=k$ for nonzero $x$; not every increasing table is proportional.
